Viral video shows brother saving brother from dresser

Some are calling it a miracle. Twin brothers managed to escape tragedy thanks to the quick thinking of a two year old toddler who saved his brother trapped under a dresser when it landed on them. The entire incident was captured on the family's nanny cam and went viral on social media after the family decided to post it.

It began with the two boys opening up the dresser's middle drawers and attempting to crawl inside. Then, the unthinkable. The dresser topples over, throwing one brother to the floor in front of the dresser, trapping the other's body underneath. The un-trapped brother, recognizing his baby bro is in danger, assesses the situation, climbing over the dresser to see what can be done from the back.

He tries to lift the dresser, to no avail, then finally decides to start pushing, and miraculously manages to push the dresser off his brother's chest. Neither child was injured in the incident, but without his brother's quick thinking and heroic action, things could easily have been far worse.

This is not the first time furniture has crashed on a child. In fact, according to the Consumer Products Safety Commission, tipped furniture is the cause of a child's death every two weeks, and is the leading cause of death to children. The dresser, manufactured and sold by Ikea, comes with a wall mounted anchors to prevent tip-overs, though they were not installed at the time of the accident. Ikea recently paid a $50 million dollar lawsuit following three accidents involving fallen dressers that led to fatalities. Victims of a consumer injury or death due to a defective product may be entitled to compensation in a products liability suit due to the manufacturer's negligence.
