Police Say Speeding Driver Caused Fatal Car Crash in the Tampa Bay Area

_SpeedingCar

On November 30th, 2025, Fox 13 Tampa Bay reported that a car crash had claimed the lives of two people. Police say that a speeding driver was to blame for the collision, which also hospitalized three people. The truth is that incidents like these are all too common. What can you do if you were injured by a speeding driver? Can a Tampa car accident lawyer help?

Speeding Driver Became Airborne Before Impacting Another Vehicle Head-On

Police say that the 23-year-old driver of a Nissan failed to navigate a bend in the road before veering onto the grass median. Her vehicle then became airborne before smashing into a Kia in a head-on collision. The Nissan then impacted a Dodge truck before finally colliding with an Audi.

The driver of the Nissan vehicle died in the collision, as did a passenger inside the Audi. The driver of the Kia was also hospitalized, along with the driver of the Audi and another passenger in the Audi. The driver of the pickup truck and their passenger were uninjured.

Police say that prior to the impact, the driver of the Nissan was speeding excessively. It is not clear why the driver was speeding. Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and perhaps they will uncover other signs of negligence.

Whatever the case may be, the accident clearly changed the lives of numerous victims and their families. Although all three of the injured victims are expected to survive, the true extent of their injuries is not clear. Perhaps they will be permanently disfigured or disabled for the rest of their lives.

Can I Sue a Speeding Driver in Tampa?

If a speeding driver caused you to suffer serious injuries, you may be able to sue them directly. This is also true if the speeding driver caused your loved one to suffer fatal injuries. A lawsuit of this nature can provide you and your family with compensation. You can use this compensation to pay for medical bills, missed earnings, funeral expenses, emotional distress, disfigurement, loss of enjoyment of life, and any other damages that are relevant to your specific case.

That being said, not all crashes caused by speeding drivers lead to lawsuits. Each case is different, and you might want to discuss your unique circumstances with an experienced auto accident lawyer before moving forward.
